Karimnagar: Unidentified persons abandoned a two-month old infant on the railway tracks causing a stir at the LC Gate area in the district headquarters of Peddapalli on Tuesday.
On a tip-off, Ramagundam railway circle inspector B. Suresh Goud, sub-inspector B. Kranthi Kumar along with their staff rushed to the spot and shifted the male baby to the government hospital. The infant is reported to be doing well in the hospital.
The police said it remains unclear whether the mother faced difficulties and abandoned the child or there were other reasons. Police registered a case and launched an investigation.
