Bandi Appears in Court for Remarks on BRS Leaders

Hyderabad: BJP leader and Union minister of state for home, Bandi Sanjay, appeared before the special court in Hyderabad on Wednesday for a case related to his remarks against BRS leaders. The case, which involves criminal charges against MPs and MLAs, stems from comments Bandi Sanjay made during the 2022 Munugode Assembly bypoll campaign.

Sanjay allegedly referred to BRS leaders as "extortionists" and described them as a "Dandupalyam batch" during the campaign. The case was filed by Marriguda police following a complaint from a member of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) monitoring committee.

Public prosecutor Srinivas stated that Bandi Sanjay, who was the BJP state unit president at the time, accused the BRS leadership of distributing ₹40,000 per vote and warned voters that some of the currency notes might be counterfeit.
