Bandi Sanjay Opposes Congress’ Call to Avoid Paddy Cultivation
Union minister Bandi Sanjay criticizes KCR, Congress over Kaleshwaram project failure, urges voters to back BJP in Nalgonda-Khammam-Warangal

Hyderabad: Union minister of state for home Bandi Sanjay Kumar opposed the advise of Kisan Congress chairman Kodanda Reddy asking farmers to avoid paddy cultivation in view of a looming groundwater crisis, and said the destruction of the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme was the main reason for growing water shortage and desertification of the state.
Sanjay equally blamed BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao and the Congress government for failure of the Kaleshwaram project. Crops in nearly 7 lakh acres have withered away due to unavailability of water, he said.
He also blamed ‘15 per cent commission raj’ as the reason for non-disbursement of fee reimbursement of college students. He pointed out that many educational institutions are running with loans due to non-release of their pending dues from the government.
With regard to the election, Sanjay told teacher-voters at a campaign event in Warangal: “The BRS withdrew from the race as it failed to find the candidates and the Congress has borrowed an outsider to contest. Unable to face the voters, both the parties are supporting independent candidates.”
Sanjay urged graduates, teachers, and employees to support BJP candidate Sarotham Reddy for the Nalgonda-Khammam-Warangal seat, assuring that he would voice their concerns in the Legislative Council.
The meeting was attended by BJP state general secretary Gujjula Premender Reddy, district president Ganta Ravi, former president Rao Padma, former MLAs Dharma Rao, Kondeti Sridhar, and others.
