Hyderabad: Union minister of state for home Bandi Sanjay urged Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan to set up a technical university in Karimnagar which, he claimed, was fast emerging as an educational hub in north Telangana.
In a statement, Sanjay said that the technical university would be useful for the students who wish to pursue engineering. He said that Karimnagar district had Satavahana University, besides three engineering colleges in the government sector and nine in the private sector.
He also urged Pradhan to release Rs 40 lakh each for 24 government high schools in Karimnagar district and 16 government high schools in Sircilla district, which were selected to improve the infrastructure under the PM Schools for Rising India (SHRI) scheme. He urged Pradhan to set up Navodaya High School in Vangara, the birth place of former prime minister P.V. Narasimha Rao. Sanjay said that Pradhan had positively responded to his request.
