Hyderabad: The ACB on Friday arrested Bandlaguda sub-inspector R. Pavan and constables Ch Ramakrishna and B. Santosh, who were caught red-handed while accepting a Rs.15,000 bribe that they had demanded for doing an official favour.
The ACB said the police personnel had demanded Rs.30,000 to close a case. The person from whom the demand was made approached the ACB, which gave him chemically-marked currency notes to hand over to the police personne.
During their raid, when the money was handed over, ACB officials collected samples from the accused officers which tested positive for the chemical. The three policemen were arrested and produced before the court for judicial remand.
Miscreants Attack Place of Worship
Hyderabad: Tension erupted after unidentified persons tried to attack a place of worship in Vivekananda Colony within the Shadnagar police limits on Thursday night. The incident came to light when devotees went to the place on Friday morning. They informed the police who registered a case and began investigations. Given the nature of the incident, police enhanced security in the area.
