BCI blocks admissions at two Telangana law colleges

Hyderabad: In a shocker to two law colleges, Basheerbagh Law College affiliated with Osmania University and Subedari Law College affiliated with Kakatiya University, the Bar Council of India (BCI) has denied permission for admissions due to a lack of faculty members. The permission was not granted for 60 seats in the 5-year LLB course at Basheerbagh Law College and for 120 seats in the three-year and five-year law courses at Subedari Law College. This is the first time in the history of the state that these colleges have been denied permission to carry out admissions.

Meanwhile, counseling for law courses began on Tuesday. It is reported that the college management is attempting to secure permission to carry out admissions, as the window for exercising web options will close on Wednesday.
This year, a total of 50,684 candidates applied for the exam, with 40,268 attending. A total of 29,258 candidates have qualified.
