Hyderabad:The BJP on Monday said that the new Telangana Talli state designed by the Revanth Reddy government degraded the image of the state and shows mother and goddess as two different persons.
Instead of taking the opinions of intellectuals, social organisations and opposition parties, the Congress government had designed the statue by replacing Bathukamma with Abhaya Hastham which resembled the poll symbol of the Congress.
BJP state general secretary Dr Kasam Venkateshwarlu accused the state government of misusing crores of rupees of public money for the Vijayotsavalu.
He wondered about the connection between Sonia Gandhi's birthday and the unveiling of the new statue of Telangana Talli. He also asked whether the Congress would remain silent if names of Rajiv Gandhi and Indira Gandhi, given to several establishment, were replaced by a new government.
