Be wary of BRS thieves: Revanth
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy launched a scathing attack on the BRS for holding protests claiming that the crop loan waiver was complete. He urged farmers not to fall into what he described as the "BRS trap" and accused the Opposition party of conducting a ‘vicious campaign’ against the efforts of the Congress government to implement the crop loan waiver in earnest. He told farmers them not to trust the ‘BRS thieves’.
Addressing party leaders and workers during the Congress protest rally at ED office on Thursday, Reddy reiterated the government's commitment to waive the crop loan of every eligible farmer and said that that no genuine beneficiary would be left out.
"The Congress government is determined to stand by the farmers. The BRS, which has failed the people for 10 years, will not even secure nine MLA seats in the next Assembly elections," he declared.
Reddy also criticised BRS leaders for raising a hue and cry over the installation of a Rajiv Gandhi statue at the Secretariat, warning that any attempt to remove the statue would be met with strong resistance.
"If anyone touches the Rajiv Gandhi statue, they will end up with bruises on their backs. I dare those forces to announce the date on which they will remove the statue," Revanth Reddy said.
The Chief Minister also took a swipe at BRS leaders for their remarks on the Telangana Talli statue after losing power. He announced plans to install the statue inside the Secretariat on December 9, coinciding with Sonia Gandhi's birthday.
Taking a direct aim at BRS leader T. Harish Rao, Reddy accused him of enacting a ‘drama’ by not resigning as MLA. He predicted that BRS would not retain more than nine of the 39 seats it currently holds in the Legislative Assembly.
Revanth Reddy reiterated his readiness to debate the BRS contribution to the people over the past decade in comparison to the Congress government's achievements in just eight months.
