Beware of Online Betting during IPL Matches: Sajjanar
The Hyderabad cybercrime department is taking strict action regarding such promotions

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commission VC Sajjanar asked the people to be aware of online betting surge in the name of IPL predictions.
“Taking advantage of IPL cricket fever, some individuals are exploiting social media with fraudulent advertisements. For the sake of money, certain influencers are spreading false promotions and misleading ordinary people,” he said in a post on ‘X’.
"Who will win the toss!? Which team will win the match!? They claim to reveal in advance, tricking you into subscribing to their channels and dragging you into the endless mire of betting. Do not lose your hard-earned money by believing the words of such fake prediction channels,” he said.
The Hyderabad cybercrime department is taking strict action regarding such promotions. “In just the past month, we have blocked 494 paid advertisements and 129 social media profiles promoting them,” he said.
“The vigilance will continue unabated. We will take legal action against those responsible. If you come across such fraudulent ads or if you've been scammed, immediately call 1930 or file a complaint on the http://cybercrime.gov.in portal,” he added.
