Bhadrachalam temple decks up for Vaikunta Ekadasi celebrations
Hyderabad: The historic Sree Seethaaramachandra Swamy Vaari Devasthanam in Bhadrachalam decked up for the annual ‘Vaikunta Ekadasi’ celebrations to be conducted on January 10.
The district administration is organizing the celebrations on a spectacular note during ‘Vaikunta Ekadasi’ after celestial wedding of Sri Rama with his consort Seetha at the temple in Bhadrachalam during Rama Navami every year. The temple was already illuminated with colourful lights to mark the occasion.
After Tirupati, a large number of devotees visit Bhadrachalam temple during ‘Vaikunta Ekadasi’ and accordingly the district administration is making elaborate arrangements for the convenience of the people.
More than 70,000 devotees mostly from the bordering areas in East Godavari in Andhra Pradesh and elsewhere in Telangana are expected to throng the temple on January 10. The administration in coordination with the revenue and police departments put up separate queues to ensure devotees a hassle-free darshan.
To avoid rush during ‘Vaikunta Ekadasi’, the temple management already issued 4,000 special tickets online enabling devotees to have ‘Vaikunta Dwaram’ darshanam from Kalyana Mandapam, Temple Assistant Executive Officer, V Shravan Kumar, told Deccan Chronicle on Wednesday.
Around eight special counters are also provided to help devotees purchase laddus after completing darshan. Each laddu weighing 25 grams and 400 grams would be sold for Rs.25 and 100, respectively. The staff already started the process of making over two lakh laddus each weighing 25 grams and 10,000 laddus each weighing 400 grams.
Kumar said that ‘teppostavam’, the celestial swan-shaped boat ride in Godavari River would be the main highlight of the celebrations. Separate barricades were placed from the river to flood bund to enable devotees to watch the boat ride. On their part, the district police tightened security at the temple and its surroundings.
