Bhatti Calls for Surprise Checks at Residential Schools

Yadadri-Bhongir: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday urged elected representatives and senior officials to conduct surprise inspections of state-run residential schools to ensure quality food and facilities for students.

During an unannounced visit to the BC Welfare Residential School for Girls in Bibinagar, he inspected food quality, reviewed student health records, and joined students for lunch. He also checked if meals aligned with the prescribed diet menu.

Highlighting recent measures, the Deputy CM noted that the Congress government had increased diet and cosmetic allowances to provide nutritious food, addressing a decade-long stagnation under the previous administration. He emphasised the importance of nutritious meals for the physical and mental development of students, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds.

Vikramarka called for continuous monitoring of food quality in welfare hostels and urged legislators and IAS/IPS officers to actively participate in the inspection process.
