Bhatti Promises Transparency in Welfare Schemes

Khammam: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced on Monday that beneficiaries for welfare schemes, including four new initiatives, would be selected transparently through Grama Sabhas. Flexi banners displaying the names of beneficiaries will be prominently displayed in villages to ensure accountability.

Addressing officials at the Integrated District Offices Complex on the implementation of schemes like Rythu Bharosa, Indira Atmeeya Bharosa, Indiramma Houses, and Ration Cards, Bhatti highlighted the Congress government’s commitment to effective welfare programme delivery. He assured that the tradition of transparency established during the government’s first year would continue with the new schemes, set to launch on January 26.

The Deputy CM noted that the implementation of these four schemes would place an additional financial burden of Rs 40,000 crore to Rs 45,000 crore on the state exchequer. However, he reaffirmed the government’s resolve to fulfil its promises to the people, despite financial constraints.

Bhatti stressed that there should be no doubts about the schemes’ implementation. He said the State Cabinet thoroughly discussed the guidelines for beneficiary selection and programme execution before announcing the initiatives. He added that Rythu Bharosa would also extend to farmers who received pattas under the RoFR (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act.

He directed officials to conduct Grama Sabhas for the selection of beneficiaries and instructed Indiramma Committees in each village to monitor the implementation of welfare schemes as per government orders. To facilitate the process, he suggested dividing each mandal into three parts for organising Grama Sabhas, with Indiramma Committee members present at each meeting.

Bhatti emphasized that the names of beneficiaries under welfare schemes should be clearly displayed on flexi banners at village centres to uphold transparency and build trust among the people.
