Hyderabad:Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has directed officials to expedite the implementation of the newly launched Rajiv Yuva Vikasam, aimed at providing self-employment opportunities. At a review meeting here on Saturday, Bhatti set an April 5 deadline for collecting applications.
The government will provide financial assistance of up to ₹4 lakh to beneficiaries to help them establish self-employment ventures. The initiative, being implemented in coordination with SC, ST, BC, minority, and EWS welfare departments, is backed by an overall government investment of ₹9,000 crore, including bank margins.
Bhatti said that the scheme was designed to benefit those who are unable to secure limited government jobs. “Since the Congress came to power, over 59,000 appointment letters have been issued. But not every young person can get a government job. That’s why Rajiv Yuva Vikasam has been launched — to ensure every youth has a path to prosperity,” he stated.
As per the calendar announced, the deadline for submission of applications is April 5; mandal level scrutiny from April 6 to 27; list of beneficiaries to be prepared by collectors and approved by district in-charge ministers by May 4; distribution of approval letters on Telangana Formation Day on June 2; distribution of documents from June 2 to 9; launch of training programmes for beneficiaries from June 9.
He directed officials to execute the scheme at the grassroots level with complete transparency and sincerity. “This is not just a scheme; it is a sacred mission,” he said.
The Deputy CM assured that funds for the scheme have already been mobilised and that there will be no financial constraints in supporting the beneficiaries. Once selected, each beneficiary will receive assistance in setting up their business and stabilising operations to enhance their standard of living. A senior IAS officer will oversee the mission, and a special officer will be appointed to ensure department-wise monitoring and coordination.
Special chief secretaries K. Ramakrishna Rao (finance) and Jayesh Ranjan (industry), finance principal secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, and senior officials from SC, ST, BC, and minority welfare corporations attended the meeting.
