Bhatti thanks Adilabad for support during yatra

Adilabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka recollected his memories of interacting with various sections of people during his Peoples’ March pada yatra in the erstwhile Adilabad district and the valuable lessons learned from those interactions. He promised to visit all the villages where he had stayed the night as part of his pada yatra and thanked the people of Pipri village, from where he launched his pada yatra on March 16, 2023, and continued it for 32 days in the erstwhile Adilabad district.

Speaking at a public function in Pipri village in Bajarhathnoor mandal on Wednesday, he recalled his interaction with Adivasi women of the Bhusimetta village of Jainoor who requested him to take steps to return their lands taken by the government through the Dharani portal. He said the power must be seen as a responsibility and the Congress government would act responsibly to address the peoples’ problems and work for their welfare and development by using the funds judiciously.

Mallu recollected that tribals and non-tribals received him with great enthusiasm and grand welcomes when he visited their villages or passed through them during his pada yatra. He recollected his interaction with the pot makers at Kummarithanda in Indravelli mandal and they told him that they were facing a lot of difficulties in sourcing black soil from forests for making pots. He promised to supply black soil officially to the pot makers in the near future and also supply bamboo to the people of the Mahendra (Medari) community for making baskets and mats through the ‘community forest’ scheme.

Mallu mentioned names of the small and medium irrigation projects he had visited during the pada yatra and said he allocated funds in the Budget for Triveni Sangamam, Pulimadugu and Kupti projects. Mallu also remembered the interaction he had with the Singareni workers and members of the SHGs in the Mancherial district and came to know their problems. He said he was indebted to the people of Adilabad for extending their full support to his People’s March.
