Bihar Gang Scouted Karimnagar PMJ Jewellers for 2 Months before Heist

In all, 13 accused participated in the robbery at the jewellery store: Police

Hyderabad: The Karimnagar police on Thursday said a gang from Bihar committed an offence at PMJ jewelers after scouting the premises for two months.

Addressing a press conference, Karimnagar Police Commissioner Goush Alam said that three accused have been arrested in the jewelry store robbery case. In all, 13 accused participated in the robbery at the store.

As many as 161 tolas of gold and 112 carats of diamond ornaments were stolen. Before the robbery, the accused took shelter in Dharmapuri and after the incident, they split into three groups and fled, abandoning their vehicles at Dharmapuri.

"We have so far seized Rs.51,000 and two cellphones from the accused. We have arrested them accused along with the businessman who purchased the gold. Our teams are searching for the absconding accused. Subodh Singh is the main accused in the case,” he explained.

Two months ago, they conducted reconnaissance in four areas and finally committed a robbery in Karimnagar. Subodh Singh's gang committed robberies in Bihar, Bengal and Jharkhand, the police said.
