BJP Accuses YSRC of Misusing TTD Funds, Demands Probe against Temple’s Chief Vigilance Officer

Hyderabad: The BJP’s Andhra spokesperson Bhanuprakash Reddy said the five-year long YSRC government led by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had used the holy TTD temple as their personal estate and made repeated attempts to divert the funds to the government and to the Tirupati Municipal Corporation.

He said Jagan Mohan Reddy appointed his loyalists in different positions to damage the sanctity of the temple.

Talking to the media at the state BJP office in Telangana, Bhanuprakash Reddy said many persons with criminal record have been appointed as members of TTD. When the YSRC government formed the TTD Board with 81 members, the Andhra Pradesh High Court had stayed the appointment of 52 members.

The YSRC government also tried to divert Rs 5,000 crore from the TTD to the state government in 2020, but the court had stayed it. Another attempt to transfer Rs 100 crore to the Tirupati Municipal Corporation was challenged , he said.

Bhanuprakash Reddy said TTD chairman Karunakar Reddy had collected 10 per cent commission by giving Rs 1,600 crore engineering works in his tenure. The issue was prominently figured, he said.

The BJP leader said the AP Vigilance Commission is probing the transfer, misuse and corruption of TTD funding during the five year rule of Jaganmohan Reddy government. He said the AP Vigilance Commission must inquire the Chief Vigilance Officer of TTD for his role and why he kept quiet when corruption of crores of rupees was taking place.
