BJP Leader Aruna Slams Arrest of Lagcharla Farmer
Hyderabad: BJP vice-president and Mahbubnagar MP D.K. Aruna condemned the handcuffing of Lagcharla farmer Heerya Naik and demanded that the government reveal what had compelled the police to handcuff the farmer.
In a statement, Aruna questioned, “Does Praja Palana mean imposing fake cases on commoners, arresting farmers and handcuffing them.” Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had failed to maintain law and order in his constituency and harassed people by arresting and handcuffing them, she said.
Aruna demanded action against the officials who arrested Lagcharla farmers for the attack on Vikarabad collector Prateek Jain and other officials last month. She warned that all those involved in the arrest would not be spared and announced that she would visit Lagcharla after the end of the Parliament session.
