BJP Mulls Another Mass Stir Against Congress Misrule
Hyderabad: The BJP will start a mass agitation as the dreams for which hundreds of people had been martyred in the state are still miles away. The ruling Congress is treading the same path like the BRS and has converted the state into an ATM for the high command, BJP general secretary Bandi Sanjay said.
In a statement on Sunday, Sanjay alleged that the Congress had ignored its poll promises including its six guarantees leaving all sections of people disappointed. He called upon people from all sections including BCs, SCs, STs, the poor and upper classes to join with the BJP for another moment to realise the dreams of separate Telangana.
He recalled the support of the BJP leadership and the then party president Rajnath Singh for carving out separate Telangana. “When some members used pepper spray on the floor of the Lok Sabha to stop the government from tabling the AP Reorganisation Act, BJP leader Sushma Swaraj stood firmly and extended support to the Bill,” he said.
Expressing dismay over non-fulfilment of the key goals of `Nillu, Nithulu, Niyamakalu’ (water, funds, jobs) of the Telangana movement, Sanjay said the subsequent government had diverted water to other states for political gain. The surplus state was pushed into a debt trap and no recruitments have happened for government jobs due to leakage of question papers, cancellation of exams and delay in issue of notifications.
“The corrupt, dictatorial and family rule of KCR had ruined the state. When people defeated the corrupt KCR and brought the Congress to power to realise their dreams, the party gave them empty promises and ditched them, Sanjay said, adding that Congress leaders were engaged in getting commissions on every issue including the Kaleshwaram scam, phone-tapping and paddy procurement.
He said farmers in the state are worst-affected as they are not getting loans from the banks after the state government assured to waive off Rs 2 lakh farm loan. The IKP centres have been causing lots of troubles to farmers in procuring paddy. Though Kharif season is fast approaching, farmers are not getting seeds in the market, he said.
Like the BRS government, the Revanth Reddy government is spending crores of rupees on advertisements in newspapers and social media for decennial celebrations and wasting public money instead of using the same money for productive purposes, he said.
