Hyderabad: On a directive from the national party leadership, the state BJP has postponed its membership drive, scheduled to start on September 3, in view of the heavy rain and flooding that has disrupted normal life. In a statement, BJP leader N. Ramchander Rao said that the new dates would be announced later.
Union minister G. Kishan Reddy and Union minister of state Bandi Sanjay briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president J.P. Nadda on the flood situation in the state. The central leadership directed the state leaders and party workers to work in tandem with the state government in relief and rehabilitation works.
