BJP ramps up BC, SC outreach

The BJP has planned a series of programmes to celebrate Dr BR Ambedkar’s birth anniversary from April 13 to 25 across the state.

Hyderabad:The BJP has planned a series of programmes to celebrate Dr BR Ambedkar’s birth anniversary from April 13 to 25 across the state. “BJP workers will hold bike rallies from booth level to district level.

They will conduct cleanliness drives near Ambedkar statues, decorate them with colourful lights and organise events involving local Dalit and Bahujan leaders. On April 14, party workers will garland Ambedkar statues and read out the Preamble of the Constitution,” said BJP spokesperson Rani Rudrama.

Between April 15 and 25, the party will conduct conventions, seminars and workshops involving intellectuals, poets, artists, social reformers, doctors, engineers and trade union leaders. “These events will highlight how the Congress strayed from Dr Ambedkar’s ideals over the past 74 years and what the BJP has done in the last decade to uphold his legacy,” explained Rudrama.

By combining Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations with a strong push for BC representation, the BJP aims to consolidate support among marginalised communities, which account for nearly 74 per cent of Telangana’s population. The move is seen as part of a larger effort to expand the party’s electoral footprint in the state. During this campaign, BJP leaders will also share meals with Dalit families as part of their outreach.
