Hyderabad:The BJP in Telangana has crossed 35 lakh members so far, against its earlier membership of 11.75 lakh, the party said on Thursday. Thirty lakh members had enrolled directly and the remaining 5 lakh had joined the party through the missed call service, membership drive incharge N. Ramachander Rao said. The drive will continue till November 25 and the party wants to enroll at least 70 per cent of the voters who exercised their ballot in the Lok Sabha polls. The party wishes to reach 50 lakh membership in Telangana.
He said that Yendala Laxminarayana, the returning officer of the organizational polls, had formed 'Active Membership Committees’ with Dharma Rao and Virender Goud as members for the party polls.
