BJP to Organise Salute Telangana Rally to Thank People of Telangana

Party to give a grand welcome to Union ministers on their first visit to Hyderabad on June 20

Hyderabad: The Telangana unit of the BJP will hold ‘Salute Telangana rally’ from Begumpet Airport to the party office in Nampally on June 20 to thank the people of the state for electing party candidates in eight Lok Sabha constituencies. The rally will also mark the first visit of two Union ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay to Hyderabad after taking the oath as Central ministers.

A large number of party activists will take part in the rally, which will be attended by the BJP’s eight newly-elected MPs and BJP Parliamentary Board member Dr K Laxman.

Earlier, the BJP planned to conduct the Salute Telangana rally on June 19. However, in view of the Union Cabinet meeting on June 19, Kishan Reddy's return to Hyderabad has been postponed by one day to June 20.

While Kishan Reddy was asked to attend the June 20 Cabinet meeting, Bandi Sanjay will arrive in Karimnagar from Delhi on June 19.

Giving details about the revised programme, BJP general secretary Dr Kasam Venkateshwarlu said Union minister of state for home Bandi Sanjay will reach Karimnagar on June 19 and proceed to his residence to take blessings from his mother. He will visit several temples including Maha Shakti temple, Kondagattu temple, Sri Raja Rajeshwara Temple in Vemulawada and Markendeya temple in Sircilla. He will meet party activists till afternoon of June 20.

Bandi Sanjay will come to Begumpet Airport on June 20, when Union minister for coal and mines G. Kishan Reddy will also arrive from Delhi. Both of them along with the newly-elected BJP MPs from the state will take part in the rally from Begumpet Airport to the party office at Nampally.

He also said that the Union ministers will proceed to Bhagyalakshmi temple near Charminar and offer special prayers.
