BJP's Maheshwar Reddy Demands Full Farm Loan Waiver

Hyderabad: BJP floor leader Aleti Maheshwar Reddy announced that he would go on an indefinite hunger strike at Indira Park if the Congress government failed to fully waive the farm loan for all eligible farmers before August 31. He was speaking at a dharna in front of the RDO in Nirmal along with Adilabad MP Gudem Nagesh. He demanded that the government release a white paper on how many farmers had their crop loans waived, and how many have been denied due to a number of conditions. Though 69 lakh farmers are eligible for farm loan waiver in the state, only 22 lakh farmers have been given farm loan benefit, he said.
