BJYM seeks job calendar, Reddy condemns lathi-charge

Hyderabad: Hundreds of BJYM activists staged a protest in front of TGPSC office urging the Congress government to address the problems of unemployed youths and issue a job calendar and announce notification for a mega DSC for recruitment of 25,000 teachers and Group 2 and Group 3 notifications among others.

The BJYM activists led by BJYM state president Sevella Mahender rushed from different routes towards the Public Service Commission office at Nampally and tried to stage a sit-in. A large number of forces foiled their bid and detained hundreds of activists and moved them in buses to other places. In the melee, a number of activists sustained serious injuries.

They were demanding the government to qualify 1:100 students in Group 1 Preliminary examination to appear for the mains exam, announce a mega DSC for recruitment of 25,000 teachers and increase the number of posts in Group 2 and Group 3 notifications.

Mahender charged that the Congress had failed to fulfill a single promise given to students before the Assembly polls. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had completely forgotten about the plight of unemployed youth after coming to power. If the government fails to honor the poll promises for the students, the BJYM will intensify the agitation, he warned

Meanwhile, Telangana BJP President and Union minister for coal and mines G Kishan Reddy condemned the indiscriminate caning on BJYM activists. It is inhuman on the part of the police to use force on students who were staging protests in a peaceful manner.

He charged that the Congress had given an open letter signed by Congress leader Sonia Gandhi to the people, giving six guarantees to people within 100 days, but failed to honor a single promise in the six months of coming to power.

BJP leader A Maheshwar Reddy visited the hospitals where the injured activists of the party and students were undergoing treatment. He inquired about the health of the injured activists with the doctors and urged them to give good medical care to them.
