Boost tanker deliveries as per demand: MD

Hyderabad: With the recent surge in tanker bookings, water board managing director Ashok Reddy visited the Ayyappa Society station in Madhapur to observe the tanker filling process and generation of booking tokens. He suggested adding three more filling points and increasing the number of tankers based on demand.

Given the falling groundwater levels this year, Reddy noted that the need for tankers could increase. Currently, it takes about 8-10 minutes for a tanker to fill and leave, but Reddy proposed reducing this time to five minutes.
He also suggested improving tanker access by building better roads and making sure the filling areas are well-maintained. He suggested adding extra filling points at stations with high demand and providing water to residential areas during the day and businesses like hotels at night to cut down waiting times for domestic consumers.
Ashok Reddy said every tanker now has a barcode on its token for better tracking and warned that strict action would be taken against any illegal activities in tanker bookings.
