Kothagudem: The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Sudharshan Reddy, on Friday directed officials to prioritise voter enrolment in agency areas of the district.
At a review meeting held at the district collectorate, the CEO emphasised the importance of conducting awareness programmes for people living in agency areas to ensure the enrolment of all eligible voters.
He urged officials to identify persons with disabilities and transgender individuals and organise special awareness programmes to encourage their enrolment in the voters' list.
Reddy also stressed the importance of booth-level officers (BLOs) maintaining accurate election-related records and called for strengthening the BLO system. Additionally, he instructed electoral officers to hold meetings with representatives of political parties to gather their suggestions for ensuring free and fair elections.
District collector Jitesh V. Patel was also present at the meeting.
