BRS challenges CM's claims on Telangana Talli statue
Hyderabad: The BRS on Wednesday challenged the state government’s contention that there was no official Telangana Talli statue during the BRS rule and the ones installed were associated with the then ruling party.
Senior BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao said, “Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s claims on the issue were patently false and displayed his ignorance on the matter. On June 2, 2015, I along with the then district collector Rahul Bojja unveiled the Telangana Talli statue on the collectorate premises. On the same day, a Telangana Martyrs’ Memorial replica was also unveiled.”
He said former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao also set up the Telangana Amarula Stupam and a bronze statue of Telangana Talli. “Revanth Reddy’s claims on the issue are like his promises, which have not been kept,” charged Harish Rao, addressing a press meet in Sangareddy after garlanding the Telangana Talli statue at the collectorate.
