BRS for Rs 15,000 Rythu Bharosa, farmers cheated: Harish Rao
Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao on Saturday charged the Congress government with betraying farmers and cutting down the promised Rs 15,000 per acre per year under Rythu Bharosa to Rs 12,000 per year.
Harish Rao, in a statement following the announcement of the Rythu Bharosa amount by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy after a Cabinet meeting, said, “During the election campaigns, Revanth Reddy claimed that Congress, once in government, would pay Rs 15,000 per acre against Rs 10,000 per acre each year that was given by the BRS government.”
Harish Rao said, “we strongly demand immediate payment of the pending Rythu Bharosa for the rainy season and fulfillment of the promised Rs 15,000 per acre support for the Rabi season.”
He said the Cabinet decisions had dashed the hopes of farmers. “The Rythu Bharosa scheme has been reduced to just Rs 6,000 per acre per season from the promised Rs 7,500 per season Today, Revanth Reddy exposed his government’s inability to keep its word.”
