BRS has no right to criticise Cong.: Bhatti
Suryapet: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday said that the BRS had not increased diet and cosmetic charges for students in residential institutions during its 10-year rule and had no moral right to criticise the Congress government regarding student welfare.
While laying the foundation stone for the Young India Integrated Residential School complex in Gaddipally, Garidepally mandal, Bhatti mentioned that new schools would transform the education system by providing quality education to economically disadvantaged students of all categories.
The diet and cosmetic charges were last increased in 2007 by the then Congress government. The Revanth Reddy government had raised diet charges by 40 per cent recently, benefiting 7.5 lakh students statewide.
He emphasised that the state government is committed to investing any necessary funds to ensure quality education for students, shaping their future.
Bhatti said the BRS policies had driven Telangana into a debt of Rs 7 lakh crore. He stated that the Congress government was implementing welfare schemes despite financial constraints and strongly condemned the BRS for mudslinging against the state government.
He mentioned that the state government had allocated Rs 5,000 crore for establishing integrated residential schools. An architect renowned for designing international school buildings had been engaged to finalise the designs of these schools. Additionally, staff quarters will be constructed on the premises of the integrated residential schools, he added.
