BRS Hits Out at Pocharam, Calls Him a Betrayer

Hyderabad: The BRS for the second day running, continued to hit out at its former senior leader Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, the former Speaker of the Assembly, saying the Srinivas Reddy joining the Congress was not about working for farmers, but it was all about the MLA from Banswada trying to protect his family’s business interests.

On Friday, former MLAs A. Jeevan Reddy, Ganesh Bigala, and Dr Methuku Anand at a press conference said during the BRS regime, Pocharam took Rs 7,500 crore for his constituency and party chief K. Chandrashekar Rao never said no to him. The highest number of 2BHK houses were allotted and built in Banswada. “KCR called him ‘Lakshmi Puturudu’ but Pocharam has proved to be ‘Lanka Putrudu’,” Jeevan Reddy said.

The former Speaker has betrayed the BRS despite it giving him everything he wanted. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy abused Pocharam during the Assembly election campaign and now, shamelessly admitted him into Congress. Revanth should know that a day will come when Pocharam will betray him too just as he betrayed KCR,” Jeevan Reddy said.

BRS leaders demanded that Srinivas Reddy resign from his MLA seat immediately, adding that his leaving the party is no great loss. However, they urged the party cadre in Banswada and rest of erstwhile Nizamabad district not to be disheartened and promised that the BRS will return to power in the state the next time.
