Nizamabad: Bodhan municipal’s BRS floor leader Benjur Gangaram, 55, was caught with a woman in a lodge near Bodhan bus stand on Friday. Parents of the woman and others thrashed him. The divorced woman was called to the lodge and shared the room with Benjur Gangaram.
Parents of the woman along with other family members reached the lodge and thrashed the BRS municipal councillor alleging that he sexually exploited the victim. Police rushed to the spot and took the accused into custody.
The-20-year-old woman did not lodge any complaint to the police.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Bodhan town CI S. Veeraiah said they are verifying the details of the incident. "We have not received any complaint in this regard, but a case will be registered for staying with a woman in the lodge after verification of details," he explained.
Another BRS municipal councillor Radhakrishna was also charged with sexual assault on a minor girl at Yedapally recently.
