BRS Merger With BJP Impossible: MP Arvind

Nizamabad: BJP MP Arvind Dharmapuri said the merger of BRS with BJP is impossible. "We are not interested in the merger of BRS with BJP due to the triple ‘K’ of K. Chandrashekar Rao, K. Taraka Rama Rao and K. Kavitha. BRS MLAs had already joined Congress and it proved the merger of BRS in Congress,” he said.

Speaking to reporters here at the BJP district office on Friday, MP Arvind criticised that Congress came to power in Telangana state by making impractical promises during the Assembly elections and cheating farmers, women and youth. The MP demanded that the Rs 2 lakh crop loan waiver scheme be implemented for all the farmers in the state. Only 30 percent of farmers benefited from crop loan waivers, he said. “Why is the state government imposing restrictions on crop loan waiver and not going ahead with the Rythu Bandhu scheme,” he pointed out.

Arvind recalled that then-united AP chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy waived off crop loans to all the farmers and supported the farming community during the acute drought. All sections of people were unhappy with the Congress government within eight months of its rule, Arvind opined.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is also walking in the footsteps of former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao by spreading lies on all the major issues, the MP criticised. He declared his support to the farmers’ joint action committee's Chalo Armoor protest on August 24, which is demanding the crop loan waiver for all the farmers.

Replying to a question on the election of the BJP state president post, MP Arvind said the BJP high command would choose a strong leader with an ideological background for the post. Strengthening the party and ensuring the victory of its candidates in coming elections would be the main responsibilities of the new president, he said. BJP state secretary Palle Ganga Reddy, BJP municipal floor leader G. Sravanthi Reddy and others were present.
