BRS MLA demands full crop loan waiver
Nizamabad: BRS Balkonda MLA V. Prashanth Reddy, a former minister, alleged that the Congress government had cheated the farmers by denying them cent per cent crop loan waiver as promised during the Assembly elections campaign.
Speaking to reporters at the district party office here on Sunday, Prashanth Reddy said that Rs 2,700 crore was released for crop loan waiver to 3 lakh farmers during Rythu Panduga in Mahbubnagar. Then Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had successfully completed the loan waiver during the tenure of the BRS government, he said.
Instead of criticising Rao, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy should concentrate on fulfilling election promises, he said. In undivided Nizamabad district, only 2.01 lakh farmers had benefitted from the loan waiver and 1.7 lakh farmers are still waiting, he said.
Nizamabad zilla parishad former chairman Dadannagari Vittal Rao, BRS senior leader Thakur Sujith Singh and others were present.
