BRS Protests in Delhi over Kazipet Railway Woes

Warangal: Demanding immediate guidelines from the Central government on the Kazipet railway coach factory and resolution of various long-pending issues, BRS leaders from Kazipet, led by former government chief whip Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, staged a dharna at Jantar Mantar on Monday.

Addressing the gathering, Vinay Bhaskar criticised the BJP-led government for sanctioning the Kazipet railway coach factory without issuing any operational guidelines. He urged the Centre to upgrade Kazipet junction into a full-fledged railway division and to build a shopping complex for local street vendors who have depended on the vicinity of the station for several years.

He also called for allocation of space for a bus stand in the nearby railway stadium area and the construction of a foot-over bridge to help residents of Boda Gutta safely cross the railway tracks. Another key demand was that 60 per cent of the jobs in the new railway coach factory be reserved for locals, ensuring employment opportunities for the community.

Vinay Bhaskar warned that the BRS would intensify its protest “from galli to Delhi” if the Central government fails to address these concerns during the ongoing Parliament session.

Party leaders N. Ramesh, S. Narasinga Rao, G. Srinivas, S. Dasharatham, D. Kanuka Raj, Md. Afzal Pasha, K. Shankar, Md. Hussain, S. Ashok, N. Vinay, Robert Joseph, and others were present in support of the demands.
