BRS rulers looted State’s wealth: alleges Bhatti

Ramagundam: In the wake of reports that BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) is getting ready to meet people, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu had taken a dig at KCR.

“Does he (KCR) have a face to say or seek anything from people after the loot and exploitation he unleashed on the people of Telangana?” The Deputy CM sought to know. He addressed a public meeting after inauguration of several development programmes at Ramagundam in Peddapalli district on Saturday.

Targeting KCR for claiming that he would expose the Congress government’s failures, Bhatti sought to know if KCR would tell people it was wrong to implement loan waiver within one month by releasing Rs.18,000 crore to banks towards loan repayment. Or would he tell people it would not be good to give Indiramma houses to 3,500 people in every constituency and construct 4.5 lakh houses in the State.

Perhaps KCR would say that they could not give jobs to people in 10 years but the Congress government was committing a wrong to give 60,000 jobs in three and a half months, he said taking a jibe at the BRS leader who mostly confines to home.

KCR who cheated dalits on promise of giving three acres of land should have some shame to hoodwink people again after failing people in every aspect, he criticized.

Bhatti pointed out that unfortunately the people's government was not formed immediately after people fought and achieved a separate State. While Telangana was achieved to provide freedom and social justice and equitable distribution of State resources and wealth to people of Telangana, the BRS rulers looted entire State wealth, he alleged.

“The workers were also exploited and they in large numbers participated in my padayatra before elections, recounted their problems and resolved to bring down the corrupt BRS government,” he recalled, exhorting people to assert in one voice that they want people’s government and not feudal government.

The State Cabinet under the leadership of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy resolved to implement all promises made to people. Despite financial difficulties, all the promises were implemented within months, Bhatti said.

Be it free bus travel to women, increasing Rajiv Aarogyasri Health insurance limit to Rs.10 lakh, the State government paid Rs.2,500 crore to RTC on behalf of women passengers. Zero bills for power consumption upto 200 units was being implemented from March 1 this year.

Cooking gas cylinder was provided at Rs.500 only. Skill university is being set up to provide employment to unemployed youth, he disclosed. Lashing out at KCR and his son for not bringing any investments to State in 10 years, Bhatti alleged that they however hid the wealth they looted in the State in foreign countries.

On the other hand Revanth Reddy and IT Minister D Sridhar Babu went on a tour to the USA and Korea and brought investments worth Rs.36,000 crore. The previous rulers did not give notifications for jobs after making tall claims.

The Congress government implemented Rs.1 crore insurance scheme for Singareni workers and for contract workers Rs.30 lakh insurance is being implemented. Despite the financial challenges, salaries were being released to employees every month and Rs.18,000 crore were credited into farmers’s accounts under loan waiver.

For those farmers who did not get loan waiver due to technical reasons, it will be extended soon. Agriculture officers will come to the doorstep of farmers and solve their problems.

Congress Ministers like KCR were not sleeping in the house. “We are meeting people every day”, he said.

Reiterating that Congress government is determined to create wealth and set up foolproof systems and dedicate them to people, Bhatti announced that the dream of the people of Ramagundam - 800 MW thermal plant will be constructed by Genco and Singareni jointly , he said.

Warning those spreading canards against people’s government working for welfare and progress of farmers, youth, irrigation projects in the social media under their control, Bhatti said people would not tolerate such gimmicks.

On the power front, he said the Congress government generated more power than that of the BRS government. Electricity employees were working hard to ensure there were no power cuts. The peak demand of 15,500 MW was met. By 2032, the State power requirement is estimated to be around 27059 MW and plans are being formulated.

Bhatti said that electricity would be generated on a large scale by building thermal projects, solar, and all other alternative resources. Telangana will not only be a power plus State but power will be sold to other States to earn profits. Power projects will be constructed here and employment will be provided to youth.

Interest free loans of Rs.20,000 crore will be sanctioned to SHGs every year and one lakh crore loans will be extended to them in five years and interest will be paid by the government on behalf of SHGs members. Bhatti also announced that Rajiv Ambedkar Knowledge Centre will be started in every constituency and those who cannot go to Hyderabad to take coaching for competitive examinations, can avail training in the training centres being constructed in each constituency. Expert lecturers in the country will provide online coaching to candidates for the competitive examinations.

About four lakh to five lakh poor students were studying in residential schools in the State. While the previous government allocated Rs.3 crores to them, the Congress government allocated Rs.5,000 crore for the construction of Young India Integrated Schools.

He said if there were no transformers, substations or electricity poles anywhere in the State, people should bring it to the notice of their local people’s representatives and they will be sanctioned soon.
