Buffeted by cases, BRS plans a busy year ahead
Hyderabad:The Opposition BRS unveiled a busy year in 2025 for itself amid growing concerns within its ranks over the fallout of the Formula E race case, in which its working president, K.T. Rama Rao, has been named the primary accused. Addressing party leaders and workers on Wednesday, Rama Rao sought to allay fears about the case, urging them to focus on “exposing the Congress government’s deceptions of the people” instead.
Declaring 2025 as the "Year of Battle" for the BRS, Rama Rao emphasised the party's mission to highlight the failures and unfulfilled promises of the Congress government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. "This will be our Porata Nama Samvatsaram. Do not get bogged down by the Formula E race case, a frivolous issue filed by a frivolous Chief Minister. Compared to the challenges we faced during the Telangana statehood movement, this case is insignificant. We have done nothing wrong and have nothing to fear," he said.
Rama Rao was speaking at Telangana Bhavan, the party headquarters, where he and senior leader T. Harish Rao released the BRS party diary for the new year. He announced that the party would elect a new president this year and form various committees at local and state levels. Additionally, training programmes will be conducted across all districts for the party's 60 lakh members.
Harish Rao, speaking before Rama Rao, declared that the party would stand firmly with its leaders and workers, including Rama Rao, against political targeting. "KTR is being attacked by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy because he has been exposing the Congress government’s failures and standing up for the oppressed, like the farmers of Lagcharla. This case is nothing more than a diversion tactic by Revanth Reddy," he said.
He added that Revanth Reddy’s tendency to file cases against dissenters would not deter the BRS from holding the Congress government accountable for its promises.
