Bursts of Joy in Hyderabad on Diwali Eve
Hyderabad: On the eve of Diwali, Hyderabad is already soaked in the festive spirit with people decorating their houses with lights, mango leaves, and flowers.
Some families have installed Bommala Koluvu, where the idol of Goddess Lakshmi is installed, along with toys. Earthen lamps are placed all around the home.
Children have started bursting firecrackers on the festival's eve, filling city streets with people in a vibrant atmosphere, as ladies are spotted buying Rangoli colours and doing last-minute shopping. Various diyas are displayed on counters, showcasing the artists' skill.
Families gathered at the GHMC grounds on Dharam Karam Road, Ameerpet, on Tuesday, where an idol of the Goddess was installed for congregational worship, attracting thousands of devotees who came to take part in the puja.
Outstation workers have returned home to celebrate with their families. Hari Prasad Penjarla, who works in Gujarat, said, “Reaching home feels wonderful, especially for festivals. Celebrating with family and friends in the home is an irreplaceable joy.”
He added, “I will be meeting up with relatives and friends and planning a gathering.”
Sonali Penna, a homemaker, shared, “We have all our relatives coming home, and the evenings are delightful as the children burst crackers while everyone enjoys snacks and food. Deepavali is filled with beautiful moments that turn into cherished memories each year.”
