Case Booked Against HCA Prez, Secretary for Irregularities

Hyderabad: A complaint has been lodged with the Rachakonda police against Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) president A. Jagan Mohan Reddy and secretary R. Devaraj for allegedly indulging in irregularities.

In their complaint, Vanka Roma Singh, the ICA women's representative and others, said that the HCA president and secretary had violated rules by assigning work contracts for IPL and other matches without following the tender process.

''We were all sent a notice for the HCA apex council meeting due on June 30, 2024. Its agenda and date were decided only by the president and the secretary. One of the agenda was introducing a women's league. But on the HCA website, it was announced that the registration process has started and selection will be announced on June 29 and 30, 2024. When it's already decided and implemented without informing anyone, why is it put in the apex council’s agenda for approval as an eye wash for us," she alleged.

Roma Singh further alleged that all decisions are taken only by the president, secretary and treasurer without the approval of the Apex Council. All payments are done without the apex body’s approval; contracts were given to known people without calling tenders during IPL and international matches

“This is against our by-laws and the HCA constitution. The bank account, income and expenditure statements have not been given to the apex body even once to date. The minutes of the previous apex meetings and annual general body meetings not given till date.” Roma Singh said.
