Caste census completed in record time, says CM Revanth Reddy
State govt. to give due respect to BCs in Telangana

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy here on Tuesday said the State government has decided to give due respect to Backwards Classes (BCs) who constituted 56 percent in Telangana.
Speaking after tabling “Caste Survey-2024” report in the Assembly, he said the official process for caste census has been completed in a record time and the report was tabled in the Assembly. Enumerators collected details in every village and tandas meticulously.
As many as 150 houses have been identified as a unit and the enumerators were assigned to collect the details. Over 76,000 data entry operators worked hard for 36 days to complete the data. The State government spent Rs.160 crore to prepare the report by adopting strict measures.
The government tabled the caste survey report in the assembly after the Cabinet gave its nod. He said a decision was taken to give due respect to the BCs who constituted 56 percent in Telangana State and congratulated all those who worked hard to prepare the Caste Census report which became a role model for the country.
According to Revanth Reddy, no official information regarding the weaker sections is available in the country till the date. It became a big difficult to implement BC quota. After 1931, enumeration of the weaker sections has not been conducted in India.
The details of weaker sections were also not been included in the national census report. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi made the promise during Bharat Jodo Yatra that the caste census will be conducted in the Telangana. Soon after Congress came to power, the People’s Government fulfilled the promise by adopting a resolution to conduct caste census in the Assembly.
