Caste Census Is a Historic Step: Sridhar Babu
Karimnagar: IT minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said that the caste census by the Congress government in the state will have a lasting impact on Indian history. He made the remarks during the foundation-laying ceremony for a new building of the Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank (KDCCB) branch in Manthani town, Peddapalli district, on Thursday. The project, costing Rs 75 lakh, aims to enhance banking facilities in the area.
Sridhar Babu emphasised that the caste census aligns with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's commitment to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the state. He noted that the census will play a crucial role in guiding development projects and implementing welfare schemes, positioning it as a model programme for the country.
Regarding food grain procurement, Sridhar Babu announced that the government has appointed special officers across all districts to facilitate smooth procurement. He advised farmers to check the moisture content of their paddy before bringing it to procurement centres, as the Central government has imposed specific restrictions on moisture levels.
KDCCB chief executive officer N. Satyanarayana Rao, vice-chairman P. Ramesh, director V. Mohan Reddy, municipal chairperson P. Rama, PACS chairpersons K. Srinivas, Bhaskar Rao, Yadagiri Rao, and DCCP assistant general manager Brahmananda Rao were also present at the event, among other officials.
