Centre’s impetus for development of Telangana is enormous: Kishan Reddy

Nirmala Sitharaman allocated funds, projects on large scale for Telangana

Hyderabad: Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy on Monday said that the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had allocated funds and projects on a large scale for Telangana.

The NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s impetus to infrastructure building, socio-economic upliftment and all-round development of Telangana has been consistent and enormous. The Union Finance Minister’s recent speech in the Parliament highlights the development initiatives encompassing various sectors while exposing the rhetoric of the Opposition by presenting irrefutable facts and figures.

She decisively laid out massive funds and projects allocated for Telangana by the NDA government. The Central government sanctioned establishment of Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal under the PM MITRA scheme apart from development of Zaheerabad Industrial Node under the NICD programme at a cost of Rs.2,361 crore, Kishan Reddy said in a tweet on Monday.

It sanctioned setting up of Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University at Mulugu district at a cost of Rs.889 crore in addition to development of AIIMS in Bibinagar at a cost of over Rs.1,350 crore and construction of as many as 2,605 km of national highways since 2014 and upgrading of 2,526 km of State roads National Highways.

Four greenfield corridors under Bharatmala programme are being developed in Telangana and a record budget allocation was made for railways in Telangana to the tune of Rs.5,337 crore, besides constructing 753 km of new railway tracks in Telangana since 2014.

Five Vande Bharat trains connecting seven districts of Telangana have been introduced, 40 railway stations are being developed under the Amrit Bharat Scheme across Telangana and around 2.23 lakh houses have been built under PM Awas Yojana (Urban).

The Centre constructed 31.27 lakh household toilets under Swachh Bharat Mission and as many as 38.3 lakh tap water connections were provided under Jal Jeevan Mission. Around 82.6 lakh people were benefited under the Ayushman Bharat scheme and 199 Jan Aushadhi Kendras have been operationalised apart from 75 lakh accounts sanctioned under the PM MUDRA Scheme. Over Rs.2,700 crore were provided for the development of nine backward districts of Telangana.

Kishan Reddy said the numbers would speak for itself. The Central government was committed to the growth and prosperity of Telangana and its high time the Opposition stop its rhetoric and join in the journey of a Viksit Telangana and Viksit Bharat.
