Chalpaka Encounter: Statewide Maoist Bandh on Dec 9
Warangal:In protest against the brutal killing of seven Maoists, the CPI Maoist state committee has given a statewide bandh call on December 9, said Jagan, the official spokesperson CPI Maoist State Committee on Thursday.
In an encounter at Chalpaka forest region in Eturnagaram mandal in Mulugu district, the police gunned down seven Maoists.
He alleged that with the information given by a traitor, Greyhound Police poisoned seven Maoists on November 30. They caught and tortured them brutally. Later, at around 4 am on December 1, they gunned down the seven members.
The seven Maoists believed a migrant adivasi of Chalpaka village and asked him to make food for them unaware that he had already surrendered before the police and became their informer. On the instructions of police he mixed poison in the food.
After eating the food, the Maoists went into an unconscious state. The police then nabbed them and tortured them very badly and killed them the next day.
The Congress government is responsible for this fake encounter. A judicial inquiry must be made into the incident.
Fearing that Maoists will question the anti-people’s policies of the Congress government, the government is continuing the Kagar operation in the state to suppress the Maoist movement and is responsible for a series of encounters in the recent past.
People of all sections must condemn the fake encounters and extend cooperation by participating in the bandh.
