Cheques to Be Distributed to Affected Property Owners by HMRL

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) will distribute compensation cheques to over 40 property owners whose land has been acquired for Phase 2 Metro Rail works in the Old City on Monday, in the first phase.

The affected property owners are being compensated at a negotiated rate of ₹81,000 per square yard, as determined by Hyderabad collector Anudeep Durishetty.

HAML (Hyderabad Airport Metro Ltd) managing N.V.S. Reddy confirmed that the cheques will be distributed at the Hyderabad collector's office near Lakdikapul at 2 pm by transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar and MIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi.

About 1,100 properties will be acquired for the MGBS-Chandrayangutta route on Corridor-6. Reddy stated that 169 property owners had submitted their consent letters, and ownership verification has been completed for over 40 properties.

Reddy said that along with the base compensation, eligible property owners will receive rehabilitation compensation and reimbursement for dismantled structures as per the Relief and Rehabilitation Act. The compensation was being disbursed by following norms of the Land Acquisition Act and based on the district administration's decisions.

Officials are expediting preparations for the Metro works under the direction of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. Furthermore, through the first phase of compensation distribution, the officials are expecting to boost cooperation among property owners.
