Child Injured in Sandhya Theatre Stampede Shows Improvement
Hyderabad: Sri Tej, the eight-year-old child who was injured during a stampede at Sandhya Theatre recently, is showing gradual improvement in his condition. The doctors at Kims Cuddles, Secunderabad have been regularly updating about his condition.
"Sri Tej continues to show gradual improvement in his condition. He is on ventilatory support with minimal oxygen and pressure needs. His blood circulation is well maintained without need of any inotropes. He is tolerating tube feeds well," said Dr Chetan R. Mundada, senior consultant, paediatric critical care.
However, Sri Tej still has intermittent fever spikes. "He is responding more to pain but still is not showing signs of full return of consciousness," said Dr Vishnu Tej Pudi, consultant paediatric intensivist. He is being treated in the paediatric intensive care unit with close monitoring.
The doctors informed that the child has mild paucity of right upper limb movements as compared to left upper limb. "A repeat MRI of the brain with screening of whole spine is being planned," the doctors informed.
The child was brought to emergency response (ER) department of Kims in a semi-conscious state on December 4 after being given CPR from police and bystanders, following a stampede at Sandhya Theatre, RTC Crossroads during the release of the film Pushpa-2. His mother Revati died in the stampede.
