Child Rights Panel takes serious note of Peddapally incident, asks Collector to take stern action

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (TGSCPCR) took a serious note of an incident related to a minor girl, who was sexually abused at Katnapally village in Peddapally district.

Considering the incident seriously, the Commission took it as a suo motu and directed the Collector and District Magistrate Peddapally district to instruct authorities concerned to enquire into the matter on top priority and take appropriate action immediately. The Commission has also asked officials to send the Action taken Report (ATR) to it at the earliest.

The Commission is a statutory body constituted under the Act of Parliament (Commissions for Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005) and mandated to ensure that all laws, policies, programs, administrative mechanisms and procedures of the governments are in consonance with the child rights perspective as enshrined in the Constitution of India and to monitor the implementation of Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act- 2015, POCSO Act-2012 and RTE Act- 2009.
