Chopadandi Congress MLA Satyam’s wife ends life (Representative Image)
Hyderabad: Chopadandi Congress MLA M Satyam’s wife Rupa Devi committed suicide at their house in Alwal on Thursday night.
Before taking the drastic step, she made a call to Satyam, who was in his constituency. By the time he reached the house, she ended her life. Rupa Devi was working as a teacher at Munirabad government school in Medchal.
On coming to know about the incident, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, former MLA Mynampally Hanumantha Rao and other senior leaders came to Satyam’s house in Alwal and consoled him. Satyam married to Rupa Devi 12 years ago.
The police registered a case of suspicious death under Section 174 CrPc and took up investigation.
