Christmas Feted in Warangal & Karimnagar
Warangal/Karimnagar: Christmas, the day of Jesus’ birth, was celebrated on a grand note at several churches in the erstwhile Karimnagar and Warangal districts on Wednesday.
Many churches in the tri-cities- Warangal, Hanamkonda and Kazipet and in Karimnagar city were decked up with illuminating lights and various programmes were held over past one week to mark the day.
Children in traditional attire participated in various events including singing, dancing and acting and distributed sweets and gifts to one another.
The atmosphere was charged with melodious tunes of carols and hymns along with displaying of spectacular dioramas depicting the birth of Christ. People offered prayers holding the Holy Bible in their hands.
Special prayers were held in many churches including Christu Jyothi, CSI Centenary Wesley, CBC church, Telugu Baptists, Calvary Baptist and Bethesda Baptist, Centenary Baptist, Saint Mary, Omega church, Good Shepherd, Faith home ministry right from early hours followed by speeches by church leaders and pastors.
Participating in the celebrations at Christu Jyothi Church in Station Ghanpur constituency, MLA Kadiyam Srihari praised the life of Jesus Christ, highlighting how his teachings of love, patience, sacrifice and charity have guided humanity in the right path.
The Kamalapuram Christu Jyothi Prayer Hall considered the largest church in Asia is a blessing for the people of Station Ghanpur The MLA assured that he is committed to developing it further to make it a tourist hub.
Government chief whip and Vemulawada MLA Aadi Srinivas, participating in the celebrations at Shatrajpally in Vemulawada, said it is a special day for all people especially those who belong to the Christian community and has a very important spiritual significance. The message of Christmas is to strengthen people’s faith and to hope for a better future for all.
Karimnagar CSI centenary Wesley Church witnessed thousands of people pouring in from around the city and from outside. Pastors in their preaching said the message of love, tolerance and brotherhood of Jesus is effectively conveyed to humanity.
