Classical music enthralls audience

Hyderabad:The third day of Kalasagaram’s 57th annual festival of music, dance and drama featured an electrifying concert by Vidhushis Ranjani and Gayatri. Started with Gananayakamin Rudrapriya, they moved to Bahudari with Annamacharya Krithi “Ithara Devathala”.

After a wonderful rendition of Ranjani raaga, they presented Thyagaraja’s famous krithi Durmargachara to a jam-packed audience where they chose dharm Atmakadhana dhanya daivamuni.

The next came a beautiful Saveri raga alapana with a melodious Muruga Muruga of Periasamy Thooran in Misra Chapu Thalam. The filler before the main was a brisk Nenarunchinaanu in Malavi Ragam.

Then came a brilliant Karnaranjani for a Raagam Tanam Pallavi in kantajathitriputatalam for Karnaranjithaganamruthapaname moksha marga sopaname where they did ragamalika swarakalpana Dwijavanthi and Neelamani where Gayatri did graha bedam bringing out Revathi, Shivaranjani and Sunadavinodini which was well appreciated and enjoyed by the audience. They sang Akati Velalo tuned by Hyderabad Sisters in the presence of Haripriya. The concert concluded with their trademark Abhang in the Surya ragam which enthralled the audience.
