CM Revanth clears nominated posts for Nizamabad leaders

Nizamabad: Even as leaders from Armoor, Balkonda, Banswada and Bodhan Assembly constituencies got state and district level nominated posts, those from Nizamabad urban and rural assembly constituencies have not been so lucky.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy reportedly cleared the name of Kesha Venu for Nizamabad urban development authority’s (NUDA’s) chairman post. Venu had strongly lobbied for Nizamabad urban MLA ticket, but the party high command fielded senior leader Mohammad Ali Shabbir who was defeated.

Nizamabad agriculture market committee chairman’s post will be finalised after considering the Nizamabad urban, Nizamabad rural and Armoor MLAs. At present, Nizamabad urban and Armoor constituencies are represented by BJP MLAs Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta and Paidi Rakesh Reddy. Nizamabad rural Congress MLA R. Bhupathi Reddy favoured giving market committee chairman’s post to Congress Kisan Keth district president Muppa Ganga Reddy.

Senior leader Badsi Sekhar Goud is also aspiring for the market committee chairman’s post. Zilla Grandhalaya Samstha (district library) chairman’s post will be allotted to another senior leader Anthareddy Raja Reddy. TPCC general secretary Gadugu Gangadhar, former TPCC secretary Narala Ratnakar and others are also expecting nominated posts.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, a senior leader said on condition of anonymity that nominated posts will be finalised within three days for Nizamabad district.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directly monitored the finalisation of candidates for nominated posts, he said. Congress MLAs, TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud will consider the candidates’ loyalty to the party and their social equations, he added.
