CM Revanth holds meeting with Tollywood actors, filmmakers
Hyderabad: Members of the Telugu film industry, including directors, producers, and actors, met with Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at the Integrated Command and Control Centre on Thursday.
Reports suggest that the government proposed a series of measures during the discussion. It urged actors to actively participate in anti-drug campaigns to raise awareness among the public. The government also suggested that the cess collected on cinema tickets be utilized for constructing integrated schools in the state.
Additionally, actors were asked to support awareness campaigns related to the caste census. The government reportedly proposed discontinuing benefit shows and avoiding ticket price hikes to ensure cinema remains affordable for all sections of society.
The delegation of influential people from Tollywood is led by Telangana Film Development Corporation (FDC) chairman Dil Raju. Among other attendees are actors like Nagarjuna, Varun Tej, Sai Dharam Tej, Kalyan Ram, Shiva Balaji, Adavi Sesh, Nithin, and Venkatesh. Directors including Koratala Siva, Anil Ravipudi, K Raghavendra Rao, Prashanth Varma, Sai Rajesh and Producers like Suresh Babu, KL Narayana, Damodhar, Allu Aravind, BVSN Prasad, Chinna Babu among others are present in the meeting.
